Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op

Responsibilities
Assist with design and implement new product development (market research, benchmarking, etc)
Assist with design and implement improvements to existing product lines, resulting in improved manufacturability and performance
Specify and perform design verification testing as necessary
Perform Cost Estimates
Design fixtures for welding, assembly and machine areas
Support Engineering/Manufacturing by fabricating and assembling prototypes
Research and specify new materials and vendors
Answer technical questions regarding current and future products
Qualifications
Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Experience with Pro-Engineer or equivalent
Experience in fixture design (part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices
Proficient using solid modeling software (Pro-Engineer/Creo preferred), Finite Element Analysis, and MS Office Suite
Knowledgeable in Engineering Mechanics, Strengths of Materials, Welding and other manufacturing processes
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Must be a team player, creative, and have strong hands on mechanical knowledge
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
